I have always loved crafts of all kinds and as a child was often found creating something! I studied Contour Fashion at university and went on to work in various roles with fashion retailers.
After many years working in retail management I was made redundant in 2011 and with a bit more time on my hands I was able to explore my creativity once again. I embarked on many projects in my home and made my sister's wedding dress. Then on a trip to Brighton I spotted an amazing chair. I knew straight away that I wanted to learn upholstery and the following week I had enrolled on an Upholstery Diploma with Annie Topham at The Upholstery Workshop in Salisbury. http://www.upholsteryworkshop.com/
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and began taking on commissions as well as working on my own experimental pieces. I love to work with unusual fabrics to create pieces you won't find in high street stores. I also decoupage wooden chairs with old maps and fabrics to create quirky one off pieces. In this flat pack society I find it exciting to make unique pieces using individual care and attention for each item.
I love the variety of work that I undertake and whether your project is a full rebuild of an old chair, a couple of cushions, a revamp of a whole room or a decoupaged piece of furniture I am happy to help.
